The Beginnings of a Strawberry Party

Carleigh's Strawberry Party

So I have just started on a few items for C's strawberry party.  I finished up the invites, which I was very proud of making by hand and also her strawberry banner.  I am working on the other decorations and have found a lot of items to go along with the theme!

Crafty Items In My Classroom

I wanted to post some photos of some of the neat things around my classroom.  I really like color in my classroom so my room is covered in color.

Colorful Chair Pockets

At our school, we have round tables which are great for collaborating during group tasks, but horrible for storage.  I decided to make book pockets for the back of the chairs, where students can put their reading books and any materials that need to be kept close.  I made them out of fabric.  I took a piece of fabric from a bolt, folded it in half and then cut it 18 inches.  I then sewed up the sides and added a 12 inch pocket out of a different material.  I added heavy duty interfacing to the top so that they are a bit more sturdy.  I love these pockets so much!

Library Books Galore

I have a gigantic personal classroom library.  Thanks to both my parents retiring recently, I have gained about 1,000 books or more in a year or so.  I created book tags which attach to the buckets using a ring.  Those tags are colored coded to a sticker on the books that go in them.  It has worked out really well and again it adds to my colorful classroom.  :)
